My wife is quite comfortable running her Savage at 70-75 mph (indicated.) My guess is that this is between 63-68 in real mph. (Motorcycle speedo's are almost always optimistic.) But another poster makes a good point; the forte of the Savage is not freeway hauling but comfortable cruising on back country roads. My wife's "Thumper" climbs some pretty serious mountains in Washington state without complaint. In addition, he's an easy to use commuter bike where speeds of 40 to 70 mph are called for.
